How to get to El Jobo beach from San Jose?
From San José drive north to Puntarenas on the Interamerican Highway to Liberia. In Liberia continue along the highway 55km, turn left towards Jobo 11 km, then to the right you will find different beaches such as Coyotera and Cocos, among others, continue 5km more to reach Jobo beach. The entire route requires a total of 5-6 hours from San José.

Located in Liberia taking internal flights from the Juan SantaMaria Airport either Sansa or Nature Air you have to travel 71 km to reach the Jobo beach, this is about one hour and 20 minutes.
To access the area is advisable to go by car or rented vehicle preferably double 4×4 traction. During the winter season you can only travel with 4×4 vehicle. In the area there are not any shuttle buses to Playa El Jobo only to La Cruz and Puerto Soley.

Junquillal Wildlife Refuge: Is located at 46 miles north of the city of Liberia, taking the Interamerican Highway to the checkpoint at the entrance of Cuajiniquil, from this place continue 8 km to Cuajiniquil community and from here 4 kilometers north on ballast road until you reach the main entrance of the Refuge.
Visitor Opening schedules every day from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, this varies in times of high visitation where you can attend from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Wildlife Refuge Bolaños Island: The national Wildlife Refuge Bolaños Island is located in Salinas Bay in Guanacaste province. The Bolaños Island is located about 3 km northwest of Soley Port, and have 25 hectares and 81 meters high. This refuge is not as big as others who are in the country but it is very important for the conservation of wildlife on the island.
The Bolaños Island is a rocky mountain, 81 meters high and 1.5 kilometers from Punta Descartes, in the north-western part of the Costarican territory, near the province of Guanacaste. Its rugged terrain consisting of sedimentary rock layers dating from 40 million years ago.

Santa Rosa National Park: The Santa Rosa National Park in Costa Rica is located in the province of Guanacaste about 50 miles north of the city of Liberia. It has a land area of 38,674 hectares and 78,000 marine hectares. It is located in the Guanacaste Conservation Area.
Today its total area integrates 43,000 marine hectares and 38,000 hectares of land. Visitation to this protected area concentrates on two tourism sectors: Santa Rosa and Murcielago sectors.
