Six transport ways for travel in Costa Rica

Maybe you’ve wondered: how I mobilized in Costa Rica? And so, we give you five options for not to worry and transit in the country.
The way of transportation will depend on the geographic area where you are and where you wish to travel, just as prices and times vary.
The bus system is cheap and it price vary. Schedules ranging from 4 am until 11 pm. In addition, the new system of cross interline busses work from 5 am to 7 pm. The three routes are: Desamparados-Moravia, Guadalupe-La Uruca, La Uruca- Escazú.
The train offers four services in two different stations of Costa Rica. Their hours are from 5:15 am to 8:15 pm.
In the Pacific station you can take the train to and from Pavas and San Antonio de Belén, while in Atlantic Station you can take Heredia and Cartago´s train.
Taxis are one of the fastest ways to travel in and out of the city. In Costa Rica taxis are red. It is important to make sure that the cab is fitted with its taxi meter and is functioning properly. According to the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (ARESEP, for its acronym in Spanish), the taxi fare from the first kilometer is COL¢640 colones and varies according to the increases that make the ARESEP.
If you are traveling outside of San José and want to do it in a short time you can take a plane, even if it is not necessary because Costa Rica can be traveled by car. Flight prices range from US$65 to US$160 and dates depends on availability and airline.
Ferries and Boats
The prices of boats vary and are per person for one-way services and short distances. While ferries have set daily trip times and are used between coastal ports, you must also pay an amount per passenger per car (see costs and times).

To rent a car you must be over 25 years old and driving with valid licenses from your own country and your passport, however, if you are between 21 and 24 years will only be able to rent the car if you rent the Double Deductible Program (see FAQ).
